Alisyn Camerota Speaks out on Today Show

In case you didn't see this amazing clip, it is a must see! You will better understand how hard it is going through the infertility process, and how we need support. Statistically support groups help women get pregnant! One in 8 couples struggle with some form of infertility- just a staggering statistic to me! Support groups also help women get through the grief process when they don't get pregnant!
I attend a support group/Bible study an hour away, and I have been trying to start one closer to home for other women. I have run into a few road blocks, but hope to start one under my charity/ministry if it doesn't work out starting one through my church.
If you are in the Phoenix area and wish to know more about the support group I attend, please email me at shaywegen@gmail.com.

  1. Shay,

Kathleen Flanagan (Sassy Granny) suggested, through a mass email to her blog friends, to stop in and check out your blog.

    This post blew me away.

I live minding my own business not imposing on anyone. Not even my husband. I'm a mostly private person. Although, I'm an outgoing person. I like to be social. It's that public mask. You know what I mean!

It dawned on me that I am bothered by my infertility. I had one child 27 yrs ago today. I've not been able to get pregnant since. I'm in my second marriage.

This video was encouraging for me. Thank you for being so willing and open to share this information in such a public place. I do not have TV in my home. So, the only way I see or know things that are broadcast are by friends sharing.

The other part to my embarrassment is, my husband doesn't seem to be bothered and doesn't care that we do not have any children. He is pretty selfish. He claims that it's more money for him to spend on himself. So, in fact, I do not see that it will ever be possible for me. Reason being, I'm nearing my menopause. I'm almost 47 yrs old now.

    Prayers are appreciated.

    Hugz and blessings!

  3. Hi...I too came to your blog through 'Sassy', and am so very glad I did. My heart just breaks for you and all that you have been through. How inspiring it is to hear how the Lord has ministered to you through all of this, and strengthened your relationship with Him. I went through breast cancer last year and know first hand how God can meet your needs at times when you honestly didn't know how you would make it through. I will be praying for you now and for the desires of your heart to be fulfilled.

I wanted to tell you that my daughter Melody (also 24) married a dairy farmer (2 and half years ago) and now lives near the border of Texas in New Mexico. I see in your sidebar that you are also married to a dairy farmer. = ) She is also a school teacher. She has suffered with female issues since she was 13 years old and has been through some pretty scary stuff. She has a VERY unique set of issues making pregnancy high risk for her. She spent four months trying to conceive, and is now almost 7 weeks pregnant. This is her first pregnancy. She is definitely considered high risk, but so far so good. We are praying DAILY for her. Most of her issues will probably come more into effect the further along she becomes. I won't lie to you. I am concerned and anxious about all of this. And yet, I know we serve a mighty God who has the whole situation in His very capable hands, and we will just go through this one day at a time with Him thankfully at our side. She is a member of a support group of women who share her issue, and this has been wonderful for her. It is an online group however, as there is soo very little like this available in their little town. I think what you are trying to start is wonderful and will pray the Lord blesses your efforts.

I feel the Lord is going to use you in a mighty way to bless and minister to others, and I thank God that your heart is open and ready to serve.

    Blessings and hugs to you,

    Debbie

  4. Hi Shayla,

My mom, who I believe may also have found you through Sassy Granny, pointed me to your site.

    Thank you.

I only had a moment the other day when I stopped by, but it only took a moment to feel a connection in my heart and for tears to well up in my eyes...

My heart goes out to you...many hugs.

    Laurinda
